Creative Commons (CC) is an international non-profit organisation that empowers people to grow and sustain the thriving commons of shared knowledge and culture. Creative Commons offers authors/creators very simple and freely accessible tools to make their works available to the public, while retaining all the rights under copyright law that they feel they should retain in the works. 

In the 2019 reorganisation, the CC has been reorganised and has now become the Creative Commons Global Network (CCGN), which is open to individuals and institutions. Within the CCGN there are individual chapters, including the Slovenian chapter, active since 6 May 2019,  represented by dr. Maja Bogataj Jančič.
