ODIPI operates as a sister institute of the Intellectual Property Institute (IPI), which has been established in 2004 and is a recognised institution in the field of legal advice, education and research in the Republic of Slovenia and beyond. IPI is a permanent observer at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). IPI has been part of Creative Commons Slovenia since the beginning of the Creative Commons movement in Slovenia.
