Event Supporter: Knowledge Rights 21

Knowledge Rights 21 (KR21) is a strategic initiative aimed at reshaping legislation and practices across Europe to strengthen the universal right to knowledge. Highlighting the key role of open knowledge sharing in education, innovation and cultural engagement, KR21 advocates unrestricted access to information in both analogue and digital formats. Recognising the crucial role of researchers, teachers and learners, KR21 focuses on initiating legislative, regulatory and policy reforms to create an information ecosystem that is favourable to European citizens. This includes modernising copyright laws, digital platform regulations, competition laws and significant investment in digital public research and education infrastructure. By working with political decision-makers and stakeholders through its Policy Committee, staff in Brussels and country coordinators across Europe, KR21 is working to realise its goals across the continent and beyond.
